B.C. hockey officers saying little after combat leaves goalie mendacity immobile on ice

Hockey officers are saying little about an incident within the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) that left a goalie mendacity immobile on the ice.

Evan Paul was enjoying his second recreation in internet for the North Vancouver Wolf Pack when a combat erupted within the third interval of his workforce’s Jan. 25 recreation towards the Richmond Sockeyes at Minoru Enviornment.

Video of the combat reveals Richmond defenceman Eithan Grishin over prime of Paul along with his arms across the goaltender for shut to twenty seconds. When Grishin lets go, Paul slumps to the ice.

Hockey combat leaves goalie with ‘extreme harm’

In a press release issued Sunday, the North Vancouver Wolf Pack mentioned Paul had suffered a “extreme harm” and was recovering at house. The workforce declined additional remark.

CBC Information reached out to PJHL commissioner Trevor Alto however has not heard again. 

The Richmond Sockeyes declined remark, calling it a “league matter” and citing a listening to that shall be held “quickly.”

CBC Information has additionally reached out to B.C. Hockey and the Richmond RCMP.

Grishin, 19, was suspended 16 video games for incidents earlier this season, based on the PJHL web site. 

On Nov. 16, he acquired a 13-game suspension — 5 video games for harassment of an official, three video games as supplemental self-discipline, two video games after receiving a recreation misconduct for being the third man in a combat, and three video games as supplemental self-discipline for being a repeat offender.

On Sept. 26 he was suspended three video games for receiving a match penalty for slashing.

The PJHL is a Tier 2 Junior A league consisting of groups within the Decrease Mainland, Fraser Valley and the Sunshine Coast.
