A 24-year-old Adelaide footballer has been hospitalised in a critical situation after an incident at a Port Lincoln pub on Sunday.

West Adelaide SANFL participant Sam Could was injured in an incident on the Pier Lodge in Port Lincoln within the early hours of Sunday morning, along with his membership saying it was working by means of a “troublesome scenario” along with his household.

The SANFL launched a press release on Monday saying it was offering “ongoing help” to West Adelaide as a member of the family stated he had been transferred from Port Lincoln to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
